Make the Switch to an Electric Vehicle with the 2024 Honda Prologue

Honda is one of the last manufacturers to have an electric vehicle on the market. But this year, that all changed with their introduction of the Honda Prologue. In collaboration with General Motors, Honda is utilizing its Ultium battery technology and combining it with its tech and designs to craft something special. To learn more about this EV, continue reading as we breakdown this model.

Trims

There are five trims offered for the new Honda Prologue:

  • 2WD EX
  • AWD EX
  • 2WD Touring
  • AWD Touring
  • AWD Elite

Performance

Under the hood of every new Prologue model are two powertrain setups based on the Chevrolet's Equinox EV model. There's the single-motor model that comes with front-wheel drive and produces 212 horsepower. Then there's the two-motor model that produces all-wheel drive and 288 horsepower.

Range

Every Prologue will utilize an 85.0-kWh battery pack produced by General Motors. By the EPA's estimation, single-motor models will have a range of 296 miles. Dual-motor models will produce 281 miles in the EX and Touring trims and 273 miles in the Elite.

Design

Due to the collaboration with GM, several of the features of the new Prologue are not produced by Honda. Though Honda has made it clear that they crafted the body and interior of the Prologue.

When stepping into the cabin, drivers will find the interior has been infused with touches that mirror the Civic compact sedan and Passport SUV. For instance, a simplified dashboard design removes the flourishes found in other Honda SUVs like the Blazer EV, and there are no round vents or brightly colored surfaces.

The new Prologue model, according to Honda, is also larger than their CR-V model, with eight more inches of length and five inches of width. This increased size gives the Prologue a more spacious cabin and large cargo area with about 25.2 cubic feet behind the back seat and 57.7 cubic feet with the seats folded.

Technology

Not only is the cabin of the Prologue spacious and comfortable, but it's also filled with great tech. In the middle of the dash rests an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 11.0-inch digital gauge display, in-dash navigation with Google Maps, and a wireless smartphone charging pad are also standard.

More advanced features, like a head-up display, are available but only on the top-spec Elite trim. On models like the Touring and Elite, a 12-speaker Bose stereo system with tweeter speakers is also offered.

Safety

Whether you're cruising down the highway or through city streets, the Honda Prologue will keep you and your passengers safe thanks to its suite of driver-assistance features called Honda Sensing. This package includes basic systems such as automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and more advanced tech such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition.
